The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles took set one, but fell 1-3 at Grand Canyon in Phoenix, AZ on Friday in their season finale.
By the Numbers: Taylor Falduti had 13 kills and five blocks. Ryan Anselmo and Joseph Pillon had eight kills each, and Hunter Howell added six and five blocks.
The Difference: GCU led in hitting percentage, .264 to .241. They also served six aces and held a 71% sideout percentage.
Critical Plays: The Eagles jumped ahead 13-10 in set one on a kill from Falduti and block from Falduti and Pillon. A block from Howell and Anselmo made it 20-14 and a kill from Falduti finished it 25-17. GCU went on a 9-3 run in set two to lead 18-11. CUI could not close the gap and lost 25-19. A block from Howell and Chandler Gibb tied the third set at 14, and led 16-14 on a block from Gibb.  GCU tied at 21 and took four of the last five points, 25-22. GCU took control of set four 18-12, and dominated the finish 25-15.Â
What it Means:Â Concordia ends their 2016 campaign at 13-7.
