Despite being held under 20 points in the first two games, the Penguins pushed back in the do or die game. Tied at 12, the Eagles' 4-1 scoring run gave them a 16-13 lead. The Penguins surged ahead to a three point lead on a kill from Cat Thompson and an Eagle mistake. But then Concordia bounced back on a Penguin error and a kill from Tran. Dominican quickly sided out after a timeout for the 23-21 lead. The Eagles responded to the pressure. Diederich, Tran and Flynn found open space on the Penguins' court to round out the four point run for the match.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 3-5 in the PacWest and 7-8 on the season. Friday, Concordia plays Academy of Art in San Francisco, Calif. at 5 p.m.Â
