Eagles extend win streak to eight

Concordia Women's Volleyball extended its winning streak to eight Friday night with a four set victory over Chaminade University in McCabe Gym. After starting out conference play 0-5, the Eagles have been unstoppable in their climb up the PacWest standings. Concordia is now 8-5 in conference and hold fourth place. Biola University is in third with an 8-4 record and APU sits in second with at 9-3. Cal Baptist holds a commanding first place lead with 12 wins and zero losses.

Rachel Flynn led the Eagles with 14 kills and digs. Cindy Tran posted 12 kills with two blocks. Madeline Deters led a successful serving night with five aces to go along with 15 digs and six assists. Jaclyn Brown and Kyra Auten also contributed to the 11 ace serving spree. Brown had four aces and Auten added two. Amber Rose continued her dominance at the net with six blocks while Jessica Diederich ran the offense past the Silverswords with 24 assists.

After falling behind in set one, the Eagles struck back with three consecutive wins to end the match in four sets behind their tough serving and strong block.

Concordia continues its trip in Hawaii with games against Hawai'i Pacific and the University of Hawai'i Hilo. Saturday, the Eagles and the Sharks play at 9 p.m. HPU is currently 5-7 in the PacWest and 7-13 on the year.
