The Concordia Men's Soccer Team got their treats a little early on Tuesday after defeating the Holy Names Hawks 4-0 in Hayward, Calif.

Offense reigned for the Eagles as they kept the Hawks' defense busy in front of the goal, sending shot after shot at the net.

Jose Huerta sent a corner kick in front of the net in the 14
th minute, finding
Jonathan Lawrence who headed the ball into the goal to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage early in the game.

Just one minute later,
Ari Claro scored his second goal in as many games. The defender took a shot on a free kick from outside the box and found the back of the net to put the Eagles up 2-0.

The Eagles took four shots in the first half and maintained their 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Concordia continued to put pressure on Holy Names in the second half. The Eagles more than doubled their shot total within the first 12 minutes of the half as
John Letona,
Eric Torres, Huerta,
Ether Bustos and
Julian Font all took shots at the net.

Nathan Vega, on the Eagles' 10
th shot of the half, tapped the ball in on a pass from
Elijah Amadin to extend the Eagle lead to 3-0.

CUI never let up, keeping the Hawks at bay. They sent a barrage of shots at goal, including three straight shots from Huerta and
Ethan Kirby.

Cameron Merrill attempted to score on a penalty kick but was denied by the Hawks' goalie, Rafael Calderon.

Lawrence ended the game in exciting fashion. A corner kick from Huerta found Lawrence who sent the ball into the net, giving CUI a 4-0 lead as the horn sounded to end the game.

In all, the Eagles outshot the Hawks 22-5. They took 18 shots in the second half. 10 of Concordia's shots were on goal.

William Whiddon did not have to make any saves in the game thanks to the Eagle defense. They did not allow a single shot on goal.

13 different Eagles took shots in the game. Huerta, Claro and Amadin each took three. Lawrence led with two goals and Huerta contributed two assists.

The NorCal road trip continues on Thursday as the Eagles head to Belmont for a match with Notre Dame de Namur. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
