After leading through the first three quarters, Concordia saw their lead slip late in the game as they dropped their final road game of the season to Academy of Art.
Ugochi Anudokem notched her third double-double of the year, but the Eagles fell 81-78.
The Eagles and Urban Knights played an even first quarter, both teams fighting to keep the lead.
Montana Walters got the Eagle scoring started with a three-pointer just 30 seconds into the game. After trailing for almost four minutes, Walters hit another three to put the Eagles back on top 16-14 with 2:15 to play. The quarter would end with the teams tied at 20.
Concordia offense dominated the second quarter. A layup from Gabby Johnson put the Eagles up by two and was fouled. A made free throw completed the three point play to stretch the lead to 25-22. A layup from
Zoe Scott-Goss put the Eagles up by double-digits with 2:13 left to play, and Walters would add two more with a jumper to give the Eagles a 43-32 lead heading into halftime.
Academy of Art's offense found new life in the second half, erasing the 11 point deficit and tying the game at 50 with 49 seconds left in the quarter. A three-pointer from
Portia Neale put the Eagles back on top 53-50 to end the quarter.
The two teams battled throughout the fourth quarter with the lead changing hands multiple times. Two free throws from Anudokem put Concordia up 61-60 with 5:55 to play, and Anudokem extended the small lead with a layup and another free throw. A three from
Annie Studdert gave the Eagles a 76-75 lead with 48 seconds left in the game. An Academy of Art jumper would give the lead back to the Urban Knights with 35 seconds left, and they would hold this lead for the remainder of the quarter, finishing off the game with an 81-78 win.
Anudokem, who was named PacWest Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds, as well as adding two steals. Johnson had a season high 15 points and grabbed seven boards. Walters added 14 points, including going 3-6 from behind the three-point line and had two steals. Studdert had 11 points and six boards, and Scott-Goss added 10 points.
The Eagles host their final game of the season and celebrate their seniors on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. when they take on the Lancers of California Baptist.
