Eagles Knock Off Royals in Five

Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. -  Darling Pavilion was the place to be for volleyball fans on Wednesday night, as the Concordia Men's Volleyball team went in to take on Hope International for the second time this season.

Concordia dominated the first one at CU Arena, taking the match with a 3-0 sweep.

The two teams put on a show for the fans in the rematch, but in the end, the Eagles fought their way to the 3-2 (25-23, 29-27, 26-28, 28-30, 15-9) win.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 13-7 on the season, while the Royals drop to a record of 10-10.

Concordia was powered by a career night from Jonathan Predney. The junior outside hitter put down a career-high 29 kills on the night. Predney also brought his game on the defensive side of the ball as he recorded 14 digs in the match.

Setter Chandler Gibb also had himself a night, giving himself a new career high of 62 assists in the match. The sophomore added a couple of kills and four digs to help the Eagles get the win.

Two Eagles came up with incredible performances, but CUI needed a team effort to get the win. Six different Eagles recorded at least four kills against the Royals and 14 seen playing time.

After winning four straight, the Eagles set their eyes on their matchup with UC Santa Cruz and Clark College on Friday, Mar. 10th at CU Arena. Game time is set for 11:00 AM against UCSC and 7:00 PM against Clark College.
