In a midweek matchup with non-conference opponent Cal State San Bernardino, the Eagles recorded 14 hits but in the end fell to the Coyotes 17-8.
Hunter Holland homered in his second straight game for his third of the season.
The Eagles got on the board in the top of the first.
Ryan Land drew a leadoff walk and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and passed ball.
Chad Whiteaker brought him in with a sacrifice fly to center field.
Eagle pitching gave up seven runs through the first and second, but Concordia managed to get a few back in the top of the third. Land drew another walk to lead off the inning and then stole second.
Haloa Dudoit moved him to third on a groundout allowing him to score on a
Josh Balbuena single. Balbuena advanced to second on a passed ball and a single form Holland put him on third. A bunt single from
Dane Vande Guchte brought him in to cut the Coyote lead to 7-3.
Cutting into the lead further, the Eagles scored three in the top of the fourth.
Chris Martin got things started with a leadoff single and was moved to third on a double from Land. Dudoit singled up the middle to knock in both runners. He eventually came around to score on a wild pitch and the Eagles trailed by just one run.
The CSUSB offense exploded in the bottom of the fourth, striking for nine runs on six hits.
Balbuena led off the top of the seventh with a double, putting a runner on for Holland as he crushed his third home run of the year.
Jack Ruegge had the best performance of any Eagle pitcher on the day. Through his four innings of work, he allowed just one run on four hits while striking out three.
Dudoit and Holland each went 3-4 on the day with two RBIs a piece.
The Eagles conclude the season series with CSUSB on Tuesday at home. The game is slated for 3 p.m.
