Eagle pitching could not contain the powerful Azusa Pacific offense today as Concordia dropped both games of the double header. One of the bright spots for the Eagles, though, was
Haloa Dudoit as he extended his hit streak to eight games.
Game one: CUI– 1 APU- 11
The Cougars did not waste any time putting runs on the board as they scored seven times in the first four innings.
The Eagles lone run came in the bottom of the seventh. Dudoit got things started with a one out single.
Bailey Collins singled to advance Dudoit to second and
Hunter Holland doubled to left center to knock in Dudoit.
Dudoit and
Chris Martin each had two hits in the game.
Game two: CUI- 1 APU- 12
The Eagles' struggles continued in game two of the double header as APU scored eight in the first four innings.
Chris Martin doubled with two outs in the bottom of the fifth and
Ryan Land singled to bring him in as the only Concordia run of the game.
A single from Dudoit in the first inning of the game extended the freshman's hit streak to eight games.
The Eagles conclude their season at home on May 8
th when the CBU Lancers come to Irvine for a four game series. Senior Day will be celebrated on May 10
th to honor the Eagles' five seniors.
