Game one: CUI-8 PLNU-6

Fresh off their four-game sweep of the HPU Sharks, the Eagles headed down to San Diego to take on Point Loma in a PacWest double header. Concordia took game one 8-6 before dropping game two 5-1 to split the double header.

The Eagles came out swinging in the first inning, bringing in four runs.Â
Ryan Land led off the top of the first with a single to right field.Â
Haloa Dudoit reached on an error before a single from
Jair Donovan knocked in Land.Â
Bailey Collins reached on an error, bringing in another run. Donovan was knocked in by a single from
Hunter Holland.Â
Josh Balbuena became the sixth straight batter to reach with his double down the right field line, knocking in the fourth run of the inning.

Morgan Brannock retired the Sea Lions in order in the bottom of the first. Two hits and an error by the Eagle defense allowed two to score for PLNU, cutting the Eagle lead to 4-2.

A Point Loma home run in the bottom of the third brought the Sea Lions within one.

Concordia got a few runs back in the top of the fourth.Â
Tony Garcia led off with a single down the left field line. Dudoit singled with two outs to advance Garcia to second before a Donovan triple cleared the bases, giving the Eagles a 6-3 lead.

Collins took over on the mound in relief in the top bottom of the fourth, going from being the DH to the hitting pitcher.Â

Holland led off the top of the fifth with a single through the left side.Â
Dillon Millar then reached on an error. Garcia grounded into a productive out, moving both runners into scoring position. A walk to
Chris Martin loaded the bases for Land who singled through the right side two bring in two and extend the lead to 8-3.

A homerun from PLNU's Ryan Garcia, his second of the day, gave the Sea Lions another run in the bottom of the seventh. They added one more on three hits in the bottom of the eighth.

Carpenter Pagett come on in the bottom of the ninth to close out the game for Concordia, earning his seventh save of the season.
Â
Collins earned his first career win after going 4.1 innings with two strikeouts. Starter Brannock went 3.2 and struck out three. Pagett struck out one in his one inning of work.

Holland led the offense in game one with four hits while knocking in one. Land and Balbuena each had two hits and Donovan had three RBIs.

Game two: CUI-1 PLNU-5
Â
Point Loma pitching dominated game two, silencing the Eagle bats. The only two Eagles to record a hit were freshman standouts Donovan and Collins.

Collins, the reigning PacWest and NCWBA West Regin Player of the Week, led off the top of the second with a solo shot to right center. The home run was his third in four games. This would be the Eagles lone run.

Point Loma scored four more in the bottom of the eighth to break the 1-1 tie and take the game 5-1.

The Eagles finish the series with the Sea Lions with a double header on Saturday at Concordia. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
