Eagles lose two games to Lancers

The Eagles lost two games Saturday in Riverside, Calif. to the Lancers of Cal Baptist University. The losses leave Concordia with a 27-12-2 overall and 13-7-0 PacWest record.

Game 1: Concordia – 0 CBU - 4

The Eagles went scoreless in game one despite five hits. Cal Baptist posted two runs during their first at bat. Two Lancers reached base on a fielder's choice and a walk and were then brought home by a one out double to right center.

Hanna Miller singled up the middle with one out in the top of the second, but the Lancers got a double play to end the innings.

In the third, the Lancers posted one more from a walk and a RBI double. Their final run came from a solo homer down the left field line.

Grayson Harvey pitched six inning for the Eagles and gave up four runs and four hits. Despite receiving the loss, she struck out eight Cal Baptist batters.

Game 2: Concordia – 0 CBU – 8

A three run first inning and five run fifth inning gave Cal Baptist enough runs to claim the second game of Saturday's double header.

The inning one runs came from two Eagle errors and two Lancers hits. Concordia had an opportunity to score in the top of the second with two outs. Mackenzie Graham singled through the left and Nicole Chavez reached on an error, but the two were stranded on base.

The Lancer rally in the fifth from four hits and one error put them ahead by eight, making the rule run effective. But in the fourth and fifth innings, the Eagles went down in order to end the game early.

Concordia comes home for a Monday double header against Dominican University of California. The games are slated to start at 2 p.m.
