AZUSA, Calif. —Concordia Men's Basketball (12-8, 6-6 PWC) headed to Azusa, Calif. for its second PacWest contest against the Cougars of Azusa Pacific University (15-4, 11-3 PWC). The Eagles battled until the final buzzer, but fell to APU 83-73. 

Brian Chambers led the Eagles with 15 points on the night and four assists. Geoff Gerlach grabbed seven rebounds and passed three assists. JT Roach recorded 13 points and six rebounds. Tyler Lacour posted 12 points and grabbed three rebounds. The Eagles totaled seven three pointers and shot 50 percent from the field in the second half. 

Almost immediately after tip-off, Cameron English stole the ball and dunked it with an assist from Tad Dufelmeier. 

Two jumpers by Dufelmeier and a layup by Brian Chambers kept the Eagles early lead 8-4. APU stole the lead in the fourth minute with back to back three pointers. 

Fighting back, Michael Vos-Otin and Geoff Gerlach throw a couple layups. The Cougars gained momentum and started to increase their lead. The teams headed to halftime with the Eagles trailing 36-26. 

Early in the second half, The Eagles put up points from Roach and two jumpers from English. Concordia trailed APU 42-37 just four minutes into the second half. 

Chambers drained a three pointer after a pass from a defensive rebound grab by Gerlach. With nine minutes remaining, Roach hit a three pointer of his own assisted by Tyler Lacour. 

Azusa Pacific led 68-57 when Gerlach and Mellinger hit back to back three pointers to cut the lead. The Eagles trailed by seven with four minutes left. 

In the final few minutes of the contest, Concordia was hot from outside the arch. Chambers, Dufelmeier, and Lacour drained a trio of three pointers to round out the scoring for the Eagles. 

APU bested Concordia 83-73.
