HONOLULU, HAWAII - The Eagles would head over to Hawai'i Pacific to continue their Hawaiian road trip as they would go back to back nights playing. The Eagles came out with a strong start to win the first set, but could not hang on the last three sets, losing 1-3 on the night.
In the first set, the Sharks took a commanding lead in the beginning of the set leading 2-7. The Eagles would continue to slowly come back when
Riley Gill would get a couple aces to take a 13-11 lead. Concordia kept on riding with their lead, winning the first set 25-18.
The second and third sets were rallying back and forth for the majority of the games, but the Eagles could not take the lead and finish the game with scores 22-25 and 19-25.
The fourth set was a hard fought battle as the Eagles needed to win this set to take the Sharks to a fifth set. The score would continue to go back and forth again as they were tied most of the set. Hawai'i Pacific served an ace to tie the game at 23-23. A kill from
Riley Gill would give the Eagles a 24-23 lead; only needing one point to take the Sharks to a fifth and final set. The Sharks caught a break with two hitting errors by the Eagles to win 24-26.
Riley Gill led the team on the night with 16 kills, while
Jaclyn Brown was at 12 kills.
Ailsa Watson recorded four aces with 14 assists.
Clarice Buchanan had 15 kills, with
Jaclyn Brown right behind with 14 digs.
The Eagles are 7-14 and 6-7 in PacWest conference and will play their last game in Hawaii at Hawaii Hilo on October 14 at 3:00 HT.
