The Eagles were back playing on their home court Thursday night after coming back from their Hawaiian road trip. Concordia was able to come out strong in the start of all the sets, but Notre Dame de Namur prevailed and would defeat the Eagles 0-3.
In the first set, Concordia took a commanding lead with a score 20-13. A couple runs by the Argonauts would put them right up to the Eagles 23-23. Two errors from Concordia would finish the first set 23-25.
Another great start by the Eagles would put them in an early lead 14-7 in the next set. Notre Dame de Namur would not give up and continued to go on runs throughout the set until they were able to tie again 23 all. A service error from the Argonauts would give the Eagles the lead, only needing one point to win the set. The Eagles could not hang on and would lose 24-26.
The last set was a fight between the Eagles and the Argonauts as they would go back and forth throughout the whole set. Neither team would give up, but the Argonauts would overcome the Eagles winning 18-25.
Clarice Buchanan would get 22 digs during the match, recording 11 of those during the first set alone.
Jaclyn Brown had 11 kills, followed by
Riley Gill with eight.
Ailsa Watson recorded 28 assists with three aces.
Concordia is now 7-16, 6-9 in PacWest and will play Biola University on Saturday, October 20 at 5:00PM in the CU Arena for the Code Yellow Game.
