IRVINE, Calif. — On Homecoming weekend, Eagles Men's Basketball (13-9, 7-7 PWC) delivered a loss to the Holy Names Hawks (9-16, 5-9 PWC) in PacWest conference play. The contest ended in Concordia's favor, 88-72.
For the Eagles, JT Roach and Mike Mellinger had 15 points each to lead the team in scoring. Tad Dufelmeier posted 12 points, five assists, three steals, and five rebounds. Cameron English grabbed five rebounds on the night. HNU's Andre Green recorded 28 total points for a career high. CUI finished shooting 57.1 percent from the floor, while the Hawks finished with a 52.0 field goal percentage.

Concordia came out with intensity, creating an early lead. Nine minutes into the first half, Adam Turner dunked with an assist from Dufelmeier. The Eagles took their biggest lead of the night (+18) after a three pointer by Mellinger and a layup by JT Roach. Tyler Lacour rounded out the first half scoring with a three pointer assisted by Michael Vos-Otin. CUI led 43-28 at half.
In the second half, Brian Chambers stole the ball and dunked it, Eagles led 59-48 with 10 minutes remaining. JT Roach hit back to back three pointers to strengthen the Concordia lead in the 15th minute.
The Eagles ended the contest 88-72 (+16) after a final layup by Holy Names' Sanders.
