The Concordia Women's Water Polo Team picked up their second win of the season on Saturday in a 13-6 win over the University of Redlands.
Dailynn Santoro led the Eagles with four goals in the game.
Kelley Guerts worked quickly in the beginning of the opening quarter, scoring three-straight goals to give the Eagles an early 3-0 advantage. With under five minutes left in the quarter
Hanna Jordan and Santoro went back-to-back within a minute of each other to stretch the lead. The first frame ended with a 5-1 CUI lead.
Redlands slowed the Eagle offense for most of the second quarter. CUI broke through the Bulldog defense with just under three minutes remaining when Jordan and Santoro again scored goals, one after the other, to finish out the quarter with a 7-1 lead.
The Eagles tacked on another five goals in the third with
Shannon Graham getting the party started just 30 seconds in. She added her second goal three minutes later, and
Katharine Leese and Santoro each put one in the net within a minute of each other. Santoro chipped in her fourth goal of the game at the 2:10 mark to give the Eagles a commanding 12-2 lead.
Jade Jette put the nail in the coffin, scoring the Eagles' loan goal in final frame. Redlands added four goals in the fourth quarter but could not catch the Eagles who earned the 13-6 victory.
Following the win over the Bulldogs, the Eagles defeated Chapman 14-5.Â
The Eagles have a short break before jumping back in on Friday, Feb. 16. San Diego State rolls in to face CUI at the Woollett Aquatics Center for a 1:30 p.m. start time.
