IRVINE, Calif. — In Friday's game two matchup against the Holy Names Hawks, Eagles Baseball fell 12-0 after nine innings. Concordia knocked two hits on the day but were overpowered by Holy Names offense.
On the mound for Concordia was freshman Joshua Ibarra. Coming off his first career win, Ibarra faced a tough Hawks lineup. The RHP pitched 2.2 innings, stuck out two, allowed seven hits, and received the loss. Relieving Ibarra was Will Cohen, the freshman pitched four complete innings and struck out one Hawk.
Bailey Collins and Davis Tominaga led the Eagles offense in the fourth inning. Collins bunted for a base hit down the third base line and was moved to third on Tominaga's base hit to right field.
Holy Names rallied in the top of the third to create a gap. The Hawks pitcher O'Callahan held the Eagles off through nine innings received the win.
Concordia returns to Eagles Field for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
