LA MIRADA, Calif.- The Eagles battled hard all game but were unable to find offensive opportunities and fall to Biola 0-1.
The Concordia University Irvine women's soccer team struggled in the first half to gain offensive control. Biola was able to maintain possession majority of the half until the last ten minutes where CUI was able to get a couple shots off. Â
Cienah Reed continued to bring her aggressive play over from the last game
against Azusa Pacifc. Reed was able to get two shots off within these last ten minutes, both of the shots were just far right.Â
Molly Melanson also tried to convert with a few minutes left in the half. A free kick was made by CUI and Melanson tried to find the net, but the ball was blocked.Â
In the second it only took Biola two minutes to capitalize on a free kick and score a goal. With a double assist by Colie Martin and Madyson Brown; Halie Jamir was then able to knock the ball in. CUI battled all half trying to make a comeback but unfortunately Biola was able to get more opportunities to score than CUI was. CUI had six shots throughout the game with one of those being on goal. Biola took nine shots with five of them being on goal. The CUI women's soccer team will have time to prepare to take down Biola for their next face off with them which is on November 7 for a PacWest Conference match up.
