IRVINE, Calif. – Fresh off a historic season that saw the Eagles soar to their
second straight PacWest Championship and the school's
first No. 1 ranking in the NCAA DII era, the Concordia University Irvine softball team is excited to announce its incoming recruiting class.
Â
The Concordia coaching staff will add two infielders, two outfielders, and two versatile pitchers who can also contribute in other ways. CUI enters the 2020 spring with a large crop of seniors that have led the Eagles to
back-to-back appearances in the NCAA DII Regional playoffs.
Â
"We have big shoes to fill with our graduating class leaving but I couldn't be more pleased with the athletes we are bringing in both on and off the field," said CUI head coach
Crystal Rosenthal,
who recently earned career win No. 500 as leader of the Eagles. "I am confident these young ladies will help Eagle Softball continue to compete at the highest level possible, and I look forward to watching them continue to develop over the course of their careers."

Â
Megan Johnson joins the Eagles as an outfielder from Turlock, Calif. She is a senior at Pittman High School and also plays for Batbusters Clark.
Â
"Megan is a dynamic athlete that has tremendous power for her size," said Rosenthal. "Her speed and power will be a welcome addition to our outfield, and I know her ability to generate offense will solidify our offense system moving into the future.:

"Madison has developed so much even since the time she has committed here," explained Rosenthal. "Her overall athleticism was what attracted me to her, and I am so excited to see what she can do here. She has become a dominant pitcher, and has the power to develop into a dangerous hitter. It will be fun to see what she can do."
Â
Rylie Rohr is an infielder from Yucca Valley, Calif. and Yucca Valley High School. She plays for Batbusters Portesi/Lara.
Â
"Rylie is the real deal. She has all five tools and will only improve over the next four years," said Rosenthal. "She is versatile and I look forward to seeing her compete to play right away. She has a ton of power up to bat, and gifted with all the of the natural instincts needed to play at the college level"
