IRVINE, CALIF. - After falling two games in the Lancer Joust, the Eagles bounce back today against Austin College with a dominating performance by the defense. Roos would outshoot the Eagles, but the Eagles would be more accurate with their shots, making 14 of their 24 shots on goal.
In the first quarter, Concordia would have a dominating performance with
Shannon Graham scoring two goals and
Madison Ravelo scoring one within the first five minutes this quarter. The last three goals would be scored by
Hanna Jordan,
Lindsey Heaney, and
Mauriama Moore just under two minutes.
The second quarter was no different for the Eagles as they would score another six goals.
Dailynn Santoro would score the first goal of the quarter as well as the last right at the end of the half. The other goals would be scored by
Sierra Venegas,
Elena Isogawa, Heaney, and Jordan. Ravelo had three assists alone in the second.
Ariana Olmos would have two complete shut out quarters, finishing the half with a score 12-0.
Austin College would come out of the half, scoring three goals in the third and one in the fourth. Santoro and
Farrah Martin would each score a solo goal in the third and fourth quarter. Olmos would allow the first two goals finishing the game with 11 saves.
Siena Goggia would go in at the net allowing two goals and two saves, while
Kiara Espeleta would finish the game as goalie just under three minutes left in the game.
The Eagles are now 8-4 on the season and will play their first conference game on the road against San Diego State University on Saturday, March 16 at 12:00PM.
