IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 14 Concordia men's volleyball team begins post season play on Saturday, taking on No. 6 UCLA in Pauley Pavilion at 7 p.m. in the MPSF tournament quarterfinals.
 
The Eagles enter the tournament as the seventh seed and the Bruins are the second seed. The winner will move on to the semifinals on Apr. 18 in Malibu, Calif.
 
WEEK RECAP
Concordia went 0-2 on the road last week, facing two of the top five teams in the nation. Addison Enriques had a match-high 13 digs at then No. 5 UCLA, which put him back on top in the conference at 2.10 digs per set. Jordan Hoppe had a team-high nine kills followed by Luke Krzmarzick with seven and two aces. Against No. 4 Pepperdine, 13 players saw action led by Raymond Barsemian, Noah Lassandro, and Zachary Meyer with four apiece.
 
In the league, multiple Eagles rank in the top fifteen in each of the statistical categories. Senior Hunter Howell sits at No. 5 in hitting percentage (.374) and blocks per set (0.91) while Chandler Gibb is No. 5 in assists per set (8.97) and No. 7 in digs per set (1.86). Hoppe is at No. 4 in aces per set (0.34) and joins Barsemian in the top fifteen in kills and points per set.
 
ABOUT UCLA
Last week following the game against Concordia, UCLA fell at then No. 6 USC in a five-set battle. The Bruins have changed its line-up from its first meeting with the Eagles to its second, due to injuries. All-American setter Micah Ma'a has made the switch to the outside and Dylan Missry has returned to his starting spot as Ma'a's counterpart. The Bruins other All-American Daenan Gyimah is now playing at opposite. UCLA ranks top three as a team in hitting percentage, assists, and kills and leads the league in aces.
