Â
This year, we had two standout male athletes who had undeniable success throughout their careers. They broke records and helped make history here at CUI which is why they were both more than deserving of this award.Â
Â
Named a Third-Team All-American by the D2CCA,
Connor Gordon capped off his illustrious career by tying the school record
with his 50th goal in his final game in a Concordia uniform. Gordon led both his team and the entire PacWest Conference in goals this past season and was named First-Team All-West Region and All-PacWest. All this after sitting out the majority of last season with an ankle injury. He ranks fourth all-time in school history in assists. After earning his degree in biology this past December, Gordon signed a professional contract with the Orange County Soccer Club.
Â
Co-Male Athlete of the Year - Brian Chambers - Men's Basketball

Â
The Eagle Award is unique to CUI in that it embodies the mission and vision of our institution. This honor is given to the individual who excelled in the classroom and athletically, but most importantly was a living example of what it means to be a Concordia University Irvine student and athlete. The Eagle Award was created to recognize the person who best embodies the spirit of CUI and represents not only athletics but the institution well into the community.
