IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine athletics department is excited to announce that ESPN3 will be featuring both the women's basketball and men's basketball home games against Azusa Pacific this Saturday, Feb. 29.

The doubleheader featuring the Eagles and Cougars will begin at 5:35 p.m. PT with the women's contest. Following the conclusion of the women's game, the CUI men's basketball team will celebrate Senior Day with the men's game officially listed to start at 7:35 p.m. PT.

It is the regular season finale for both schools and their second meeting of the year. All four teams have already clinched a spot in their respective conference tournaments, with the PacWest Conference Championships set to be held in Azusa next week from Thursday, March 5 through Saturday, March 7.

Both Concordia teams are looking to secure the No. 3 seed at the PacWest Conference Championships. For the Cougars, their spots in the conference tournament are set in stone, but the men's and women's teams are both looking to boost their regional rankings to try to secure a spot in the regional tournament.

On the men's side, the Eagles are led by Preseason All-PacWest selection Rob McCoy who is the team's leading scorer. McCoy averaged 13.1 points per game and is one of six Eagles averaging eight points or more in the scoring column. Seniors Andre Green (11.6 ppg) and Jamel White (9.4 ppg) are also key pieces of the offensive attack.

Led by head coach Ken Ammann, CUI men's basketball has won 20 or more games in 16 of the last 19 seasons after beating Notre Dame de Namur last Thursday. There has also been at least one Australian player on the men's roster every season since 2007, with sharpshooter Austin Clarke continuing that tradition this year in his second campaign with the Green and Gold.

The Concordia women are in line for their highest finish in league play since the school completed the transition from NAIA to NCAA DII.  Under the direction of head coach Christine Collins-Kiernan, the Eagles have vaulted into third place in the PacWest and broke into the top ten of the DII West Regional Poll for the first time in program history. The Eagles are led by recently named PacWest Player of the Week Michaela VanderKlugt, who is coming off a career-high 36-point game against Academy of Art.
