FULLERTON, Calif. – The Eagles battled against Cal State Fullerton all game but fell short of the victory to the NCAA Division I school.
The women's basketball team had a tough first half as they went into the locker room at halftime with a score of 21-36. The Green and Gold came out strong after halftime winning the third quarter 17-15. Unfortunately, it was not enough to make up for the deficit created in the first half. The end score was 51-69 for the Titans.
Katie Timmerman, the starting junior guard, had an all-around solid performance. Timmerman led the team with 19 points, collected team high six assists, and went 10-12 from the free throw line. Starting senior,
Michaela VanderKlugt, added another double-double to the season with 15 points and 10 boards.
The Eagles are looking forward to bounce back and begin PacWest Conference play on Friday, Jan. 22 where they will face off at PLNU. The women will return home for another battle against the Sea Lions on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m.
