IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia women's volleyball team hosted the Biola Eagles for the Breast Cancer Awareness game on Saturday night. CUI started its nine-game homestand in dominating fashion by beating Biola in a sweep with the scores 25-19, 25-17, and 25-11.Â

Julia Wilson had a show-stopping performance leading the Eagles with 15 digs and two aces. Wilson was all over the court, scooping up digs left and right alongside libero
Cassidy Gelacio who also dug up nine digs on the night.

Middles
Jalyssa Sanchez and
Hannah Tostado challenged Biola up at the net. Sanchez finished the match with nine kills while hitting .750 and no errors. Tostado continueed to impress up at the net defensively with two solo blocks and two assists.

Junior
Kirra Schulz led the Green and Gold with 14 kills and eight digs while adding one ace.
Patience O'Neal and
Daniela Poles tallied seven kills each with Poles tallying four aces in the third set.
Brianna Latigue dished out 31 assists, making that her tenth time to reach 30 assists or more in a match.

In the second set, Biola came within three but Wilson went to back line for CUI and closed out the set with an ace and kills from Schulz and Tostado. In the third set, Green and Gold took full control of the set not allowing Biola to go on a run of more than three points. Poles went on a service run in the beginning of the set and racked up four service aces to take an early 8-2 lead. Gelacio went on another serving streak for the Eagles to extend their lead 17-5. CUI closed out the set and match with only allowing Biola with 11 points.

The Eagles will be back in the CU Arena next week with back-to-back nights on Thursday, Oct. 21 and Friday, Oct. 22. The Eagles will take on Fresno Pacific and Academy of Art with both games slated to start at 7 p.m.
