LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The CUI men's water polo program earned its first win in their first-ever game against Biola University on Saturday, completing the Gary Troyer Tournament with a record of 2-2 and improving to 4-8 on the season.
Occidental 10, CUI 8
Despite outshooting the Tigers 23 to 19, the Eagles were unable to walk away with the win in their first game of the day against Occidental College.
Both
Shaine Sargis and
Jeff Runyan scored three goals while
Jacob Stuart led the team with two assists.
CUI 11, Biola 7
In their first matchup in program history, CUI defeated Biola by a score of 11-7. Runyan scored an impressive six goals in this game, marking 24 goals for him in his last five games.
Hunter Osgood played all 32 minutes, finishing with five saves and three steals.
With the conclusion of Saturday's doubleheader, CUI completes a five-game stretch in just three days.
