CUI Stays Perfect at Home in PacWest Play

IRVINE, Calif. – After earning a sweep over Fresno Pacific on Thursday night, the Concordia women's volleyball team looked to do the same against Academy of Art on Friday and they did just that. CUI remained undefeated at home against PacWest opponents with another three-game sweep. The Eagles extended their record to 12-5 overall and 7-3 in the PacWest conference.

The middle blockers established their presence on the court with Hannah Tostado earning six kills with no errors and Jalyssa Sanchez adding eight kills. Sanchez recorded a career-high of five blocks with one solo block.  Both are in the top three in the conference in hitting percentage of .357 each.

Libero Cassidy Gelacio finished with 10 digs while Julia Wilson had 15. This marks the fifth game with Wilson reaching over 15 digs in one match for the Eagles. Brianna Latigue had 29 assists in just three sets and dug up eight balls as well.

Daniela Poles came up big with eight kills on the right side and scooped up six digs from the back. Kirra Schulz had a team-high 12 kills and nine digs that didn't go unnoticed as she was diving all over the court to make plays for the Eagles.

Kawehi Chang and Danielle McCasland also came into the game and McCasland secured the final match point for the Green and Gold.

The Eagles will be back on the court on Monday, Oct. 25 against Hawai'i Hilo and will play Chaminade Tuesday and Hawai'i Pacific Friday all in the same week with a 7 p.m. start time.
