IRVINE, Calif. - The Eagles returned home after their long PacWest road trip in Hawaii in Saturday night's match against the visiting Urban Knights of Academy of Art.

The Eagles quickly set up occupancy in the visitor's defensive end of the field, creating early chances for themselves and putting Art U on their heels. In the eighth minute of the first, Jadenn Carrillo collected the ball in the midfield and played a fantastic through ball to the perfectly timed run of freshman Sophia Munoz, who effortlessly snuck the ball past the charging keeper. That was Munoz's first career goal for the green and gold during her first career start. 

Munoz didn't want to leave the match with only a single goal to her name. After separating from her defender, Munoz collected a pass from Riley Walkington at the top of the box and turned to fire a quick left-footed shot in the right corner to double the score before the half.

The goals from Munoz proved to be the decider, earning the Eagles the conference win as the game ended 2-0. CUI outshot their opponents 22 to eight, with goalie Hailey Asato having a relatively calm night, making two saves and earning a fifth clean sheet this season.

The women's soccer team makes a short trip up to La Mirada for the second time this season to take on Biola on Oct. 28th at 4:00 p.m.  Biola University recently changed its policy to once again allow visiting spectators to attend their sporting events. Please CLICK HERE for more information.
