HONOLULU, Hawai'i – The Concordia women's volleyball started their three game stretch in Hawai'i with Hawai'i Pacific tonight. The two are in the top three rankings in the PacWest and the race continues during the stretch of this trip. The Eagles were able to soar past the Sharks in a three set sweep with final scores 25-9, 25-21, and 25-15.
Five different players from CUI tallied two aces bringing that total to 11 as a team in just three sets. Every player that was on the court tonight dug up at least one ball during the match with a team total of 49.
Kirra Schulz led the Green and Gold tonight with her fifth double-double night adding 11 kills while hitting an impressive .500 and digging up 10.
Daniela Poles had another steady performance with six kills and eight digs.
Middles
Hannah Tostado and
Jalyssa Sanchez came up strong for the Eagles offensively with a combined eight kills and no errors. Sanchez and
Kennedy Farley had three blocks up at the night.
The Hawai'i native
Cassidy Gelacio dug up 14 digs and
Brianna Latigue dished out 25 assists and eight digs.
The Eagles advance to 9-3 and 4-1 in PacWest. CUI will take on Chaminade who is the leader in the conference on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m.
