BELMONT, Calif. – The Concordia women's volleyball team are on the road for the weekend and will play two games in less than 24 hours. CUI started the road trip with Academy of Art and was able to take another victory, marking their fifth win in a row and their longest win streak of the season. The Eagles finished with scores 25-19, 24-26, 25-14, and 25-13.
Serving is a continuous performance for the Eagles as four different Eagles went on service runs to extend their lead over the Urban Knights and take them out of the sets. As a team they finished the match with nine aces compared to AAU with one.
Outside hitters
Kirra Schulz led the Eagles with 15 kills and nine digs with
Patience O'Neal finished with eight kills.
Both middles
Jalyssa Sanchez and
Hannah Tostado continue to be unstoppable as Sanchez had 11 kills and Tostado had six with no errors from either. They tallied seven blocks together and six of those being form Tostado alone. Sanchez has topped the hitting percentage in the PacWest conference at .358 and Tostado close behind at .353.
Daniela Poles had an impressive game from the back line serving up five aces, five kills, and 11 digs. Setter
Brianna Latigue dished out another 44 assists and nine digs while libero
Cassidy Gelacio had twelve digs and served up two aces. Freshman
Julia Wilson had another double digit night in digs with 10 and added an ace on a service run that clinched the third set.
The Eagles will be on the road for the next two matches against Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. and Point Loma on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
