Camila Tumosa won the No. 2 spot, and
Tiffany Carrillo battled in the No. 3 spot.
Heather Richards,
Taylor Lau, and Zayat competed in their respective spots of No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6. Each athlete did their part and beat out their competition.
Overall, the Eagles held an outstanding performance and are looking forward to the rest of the season!
"I was very proud of the way our women picked themselves up after a rough start in doubles," said head coach
Jonathan Sanchez. "
Alyssa Zayat came out and took care of business for us today being the first singles match off which gave confidence to the rest of her teammates still out on the courts. I also want to recognize
Heather Richards for her first college singles win as well. This match was a great opportunity to build some momentum going into Friday's match against Biola. We are looking forward to our first conference match of the season at Biola."
The women's tennis team is now 1-1 overall and is slated to play at Biola for the start of PacWest conference play on Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. For the full schedule
