LA MIRADA, Calif. - No. 25 CUI Women's Tennis team continued their momentum from defeating Westmont to beating Biola 4-1 in the Eagles first PacWest match this season.
In doubles,
Camila Tumosa and
Heather Richards dominated with a 6-2 over Kitts and Carvajal.
Tiffany Carrillo and
Taylor Lau fell short with the set 4-6.
Ghazal Pakbaten and
Rebekah Anderson finished doubles with a close win over Emery and Brascia 7-6.
During the singles portion, No. 3 slot with Tumosa and No. 2 slot Anderson finished first for the Eagles in two straight sets. Richards battled in the No. 5 spot with Biola wining the second set, forcing a third. Richards was able to close out the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. In the No. 6 slot,
Alyssa Zayat had a close first set 7-5 and had a dominating lead in the second set, 5-2 as it was unfinished.
The women's tennis team is 2-1 with their first PacWest win under their belt. The Eagles will continue on the road with another PacWest match-up against Point Loma in San Diego, Calif. on Tuesday, Feb. 16 and is slated for a 3 p.m. start.
