Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine women's water polo squad started their season playing No. 13 Pacific Friday.
Five different Eagles net goals in their first match-up of the conference with Pacific. However, the Tigers were able to string together a few runs and converted 18 of their 41 shots to pull away for an 18-8 victory.
Madison Ravelo opened things up for the Eagles in the first quarter. Pacific took the lead at the end of the first quarter and never trailed.
Emily Tucker and
Kim Reidel found the back of the net in the second quarter to tie the game at three a-piece with 1:30 left. The Tigers retaliated with scoring another two before reaching halftime.Â
Reidel scored another two times for the Eagles in the third quarter along with
Tamsyn Evezard and
Dailynn Santoro each at one. The green and gold trailed by a score 7-11 at the end of the third quarter. The Tigers scored another seven goals in the fourth with
Ta'iuta Uiagalelei being the solo goal for the Eagles in the quarter.
Tatiana Cava racked up nine saves as the goalie for the Eagles.
Kiara Espeleta saw time in the net while leading the Eagles with two steals.
The green and gold continue their road trip in Fresno, Calif. tomorrow, Saturday March 20 against Fresno State at 12 p.m.
