IRVINE, Calif. – The women's tennis team has proven they are hard to beat on their home courts as they have now won five matches on CUI Campus.
The Eagles are now 7-2 with their most recent win against Portland State. The Green and Gold held their own against the Division I school as they defeated them 5-1.
Rebekah Anderson and
Taylor Lau won their doubles set 2-6 at the No. 2 position. Anderson continued that momentum in her singles match at the No. 1 slot where she won in two sets.
Camila Tumosa battled at the No. 2 spot and was victorious earning a point for the Eagles.
Heather Richards outperformed her opponent in the No. 3 spot to earn another point for the Green and Gold.
"I think today everyone really stepped up to the plate," said Anderson. "Especially considering the circumstances that have happened, everyone really went out and crushed it! I am so proud of how everyone played and the fight that was out on the court today!"
The Eagles are back on their home court for two more matches before they head back on the road. On Mar. 25 the Green and Gold are slated to play MSU Denver at 9:00 a.m.
