IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team took on No. 2 BYU again tonight as their last home match of the season in the CU Arena. The Eagles honored their five seniors tonight
Raymond Barsemian,
Jordan Hoppe,
Jesper Schut,
Addison Enriques, and
Blake Omartian before the match.
Seniors Barsemian finished the night with 16 kills and two aces while Hoppe had three kills and four digs.
Jonathan Carlson had another solid night racking up six kills, two aces, and five digs. Enriques had another double-digit night with 11 digs.
McLain Mott dished out 23 assists. Many other Eagles saw the court with
Brock Henderson coming in to set and Omartian to serve.
Mason Mullins and
Owen Chun came onto the court playing up at the net in the middle.
"Mistakes are going to happen in volleyball," said senior
Jesper Schut. "The team that makes less mistakes usually wins."
The Eagles will return to action on the road against Stanford in back-to-back nights starting Friday Apr. 2. The game that night has been moved up to a 4 p.m. start and the two teams will play again at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 in the same venue. The Eagles will look to move up the standings as they look to make their push towards the post season. The upcoming MPSF conference tournament will be hosted by BYU starting in late April.
