IRVINE, Calif. – The CUI women's tennis team outperformed Cal Lutheran as they won 7-0!
The CUI Eagles have not given up a single point during their two home matches for the season. With another clean sweep victory, the Eagles are currently on a four-game win streak. In doubles,
Camila Tumosa and
Tiffany Carrillo held it down winning their match 6-1 while
Heather Richards and
Alyssa Zayat defeated CLU players in the No. 2 spot.
Jennifer Jolin and
Grace Gorges also went to work in the No. 3 slot as they won 6-1 as well.
With the doubles point earned, the Green and Gold kept the momentum steady during their singles match ups. Tumosa effortlessly handled the No. 1 singles position to earn a point for the Eagles.
"I'm so grateful to be part of such an amazing group of people," said Tumosa, "and playing for a great university like Concordia. This is just part of what's going to be a great season for us. Go Eagles!"
Carrillo in the No. 2 slot and Richards representing in the No. 3 spot both earned two more points for the Eagles with ease.
Taylor Lau had a solid battle in the No. 4 slot but was still able to pull away with the win. Zayat and Rahmani earned two more points for the Eagles as they played in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots respectively.
"Today was a very good win for each teammate," said Carrillo. "I feel we all played very competitive and fought for each point. For me personally, I feel I played very well today and was able to take control of the match. I am very proud of each one of my teammates for the big win today!"
The Eagles look to continue their win streak with their stretch of home games throughout the next couple of weeks. They play FPU on Mar. 10 at 1:00 p.m. and then later that week line up against APU on Mar. 12 at 12:00 p.m.
