IRVINE, Calif. – Eagles finish 2-0 on the season against PLNU.
The No. 20 Concordia Eagles posted a close match up this go around with the Sea Lions with a final score of 4-3. The Green and Gold mixed up their doubles pairs this match and had
Rebekah Anderson and
Taylor Lau compete in the No. 2 position where they won the first match.
Ghazal Pakbaten and
Tiffany Carrillo then won their No. 1 doubles match to earn the doubles point for the Eagles.
No. 36 Pakbaten continued the winning energy into singles as she dominated in the No. 1 singles spot. Her final set scores were 6-1 and 6-2. The No. 3 and No. 2 singles matches were lost which tied the score at 2-2.
Heather Richards battled in the No. 4 position and earned her win against tough competition with final set scores of 6-4 and 7-5 to give the lead back to Concordia. The No. 5 singles match was lost tying the game back up at 3-3. It was all down to the No. 6 match where Lau was putting up a fight. Lau lost the first set and then came back to win the last two sets to clinch the game for the Eagles!
Concordia women's tennis is now 12-3 overall with a record of 8-1 at home. They return home on Apr. 14 to play against Westmont for their final regular season game before the PacWest Championships starting on Apr. 22.
