CARSON, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine men's soccer team continued their non-conference competition schedule against Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday night.
It only took
Elijah Amadin two minutes to find his first goal of the game, after he was able to outpace the trailing Toro defender, beating the keeper and firing in the back of the net. Unfortunately, CUI's lead did not last too long as the Toro's offense was able to fire two long-distance shots into the back of the net.
Tyler Oakson responded in the 37th minute with a long-distance strike of his own to head into the half tied at two goals apiece.
As the second half progressed, neither team allowed themselves to falter defensively until the 65th minute, when a strong effort from the Toro offense fired a strike into the back of the Eagle's goal.
Despite the outcome, the Eagle's held a strong offensive presence throughout the game, outshooting CSUDH nineteen to eight shots.
CUI men's soccer head back home for their next game against Cal State Los Angeles next Wednesday night, Sept. 15th, at 6:00 p.m.
