IRVINE, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine men's soccer team matched up against the visiting Golden Eagles of Cal State LA at home Wednesday night.
Both teams had no lack of offensive effort, with CUI keeperÂ
Andre Flores making two big saves in the first half. Neither team would let their defense falter until the 43rd minute when CSULA's Anton Olofsson found the back of the Eagle's net just before the half.Â
As the teams entered the pitch for the remainder of the match, it was not long before the Golden Eagles doubled their lead. CUI was able to outshoot Cal State LA five shots to three for the remainder of the game but just couldn't quite put those chances away.
Willy Ospina and
Carlos Moate kept the pressure on the visitors, leading the Eagles offense with a combined five of CUI's nine shots.Â
CUI travels down south to Cal State San Marcos for their next regular-season game next Saturday, Sept. 18th, at 3:00 p.m.
