LA MIRADA, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine men's soccer team went face to face with Biola University in their first non-conference matchup of the season.

In the first half of the game, both teams looked threatening offensively, but Biola was able to put themselves on top with a goal in the 37th minute, leading 1-0 going into the break.  

CUI came into the second half looking to equalize the game, looking to steal the momentum. But at the 74th minute Biola was able to break past Concordia's defense and firing a shot into the net, doubling their lead. But CUI didn't give up when in the 75th minute, Brett Lux put a left-footed cross to the back of the goal where Alex Perez was waiting to finish it into Biola's net, scoring his first career goal for Concordia. Unfortunately, Concordia could not find an equalizer in the final fifteen minutes.

Concordia men's soccer is back home next Wednesday, Sept. 29th, at 6 p.m., as they take on Point Loma Nazarene in another non-conference match.
