IRVINE, Calif. - The Eagles hosted the Point Loma Sea Lions in a non-conference tilt Wednesday night and were able to string together a number of quality scoring chances.
CUI outshot PLNU 21 to 10 and also compiled seven corner kicks. Conversely, the Sea Lions only had one corner kick the entire game.
The Eagles did a solid job attacking the middle of the field and were able to put the Sea Lions on their heels in the second half when on the attack.
Emotions were high and with PLNU clinging to a 1-0 lead at intermission, the Eagles were clawing to get the equalizer. Lady Luck was just not on their side in the end.
Despite those good looks at the net for Concordia, it was Point Loma that emerged with the 2-0 victory.
Goalie
Andre Flores collected four saves to help keep the Eagles in the game.Â
The Green and Gold will look to regroup when they take the pitch again on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. against Azusa Pacific. CUI will host the Cougars in a doubleheader with the women's teams playing first at 3 p.m. before the men's game under the lights.
