IRVINE, Calif. - CUI women's soccer hosted the Sea Lions of Point Loma in Wednesday's non-conference matchup. 

The Eagles did a great job defending set-pieces throughout the game, facing seven Point Loma corner kicks, and clearing the danger quickly each time.

After a scoreless first half, Point Loma was able to jump on a loose ball in the box, firing it into the net, taking the 1-0 in the 64th minute. However, their lead didn't last long when Jadenn Carrillo blasted a free-kick past the Sea Lions keeper in the 74th minute, typing up the match. Carmany Jones and Carrillo combined for eleven of CUI's fourteen total shots of the game. 

Carrillo's incredible effort from a distance was enough to send the game into the Eagles fourth overtime match of their regular season so far. 

With only two minutes expired in the first period of overtime, the Sea Lions were able to sneak the ball just under the crossbar to win the game 2-1. 

The Eagles look forward to their next match as they open up PacWest conference play hosting the Cougars of Azusa Pacific next Saturday, October 9th at 3 p.m.
