UPDATE: Schedule Changes For CUI Men's Water Polo

**Note: This story was updated on Thursday, Sept. 30 for the upcoming men's water polo game that has changed in the Gary Troyer Tournament.**

IRVINE, Calif. – There are a few changes to the upcoming Concordia University Irvine game schedules for a handful of our sports currently in season this semester.  Please spread the word about the changes below and continue to adhere to the respective policies at each venue. We hope to see you at our next home games!


SCHEDULE CHANGES
  • Men's Water Polo – CUI now has two game changes for the week of Monday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Oct. 2
    • CUI will now play at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, October 1 against Ottawa to open the Gary Troyer Tournament. This game has been moved up after originally being scheduled later in the day. The next three games for Concordia remain as scheduled.
    • CUI moved its home contest with CBU to be a night game on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Beckman High School. This game was originally slated to be held on October 13 at 1:30 p.m.

  • Women's Soccer - CUI's home contest on Monday, Sept. 20 vs. Colorado Mesa has been postponed due to Colorado Mesa's COVID-19 protocols. At this time, it is unlikely a makeup date will be found since both teams are from different states.

  • Women's Volleyball – CUI's road contest at Dominican originally scheduled for this Friday, Sept. 17 has been postponed due to Dominican's COVID-19 protocols.  Both schools hope to reschedule the match at a later date. 
    • The 5-2 Eagles will now play their PacWest Conference Opener when they visit Holy Names this Saturday afternoon  (However, visiting spectators are NOT permitted at this time for the CUI at HNU game). CUI's next home volleyball game is Saturday, Oct. 2 against Point Loma.

  • Men's Soccer – Originally scheduled as a home contest at Eagles Field, this Saturday's match on Sept. 18 with Cal State San Marcos will now be hosted by the Cougars down in San Marcos, Calif. at 3:00 p.m.  
    • The next home men's soccer game is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 6:00 p.m. against Point Loma as part of a doubleheader with both women's teams.

NEW SPECTATOR POLICIES
  • Holy Names Not Allowing Visiting Fans At This Time - For the upcoming CUI women's volleyball contest on Sat. Sept. 18, no visiting spectators are allowed inside the home gym of the Hawks.

  • Biola Not Allowing Visiting Fans At This Time - Upcoming road contests on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Biola for our CUI women's volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer teams are still scheduled as planned. However, no visiting teams are currently allowed on campus due to COVID-19 protocols.  Fans are asked to enjoy the action by following the live stats and video live stream for those games.

As of Sept. 1, 2021, Concordia University Irvine is allowing fans to attend games on campus.  Masks ARE required at all CUI indoor sporting events (volleyball, basketball & STUNT) and masks also are mandatory to enter any building on Concordia's campus. Masks are optional at outdoor sports events such as soccer and water polo at this time.
