IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University, Irvine men's volleyball advance to 3-0 on the start of the season as they swept The Master's on Saturday. The Eagles took control of the match as they only allowed the Mustangs to take the lead by just a couple points early on in sets.
The Eagles dominated offensively with every hitter finishing the match with at least a .380 hitting percentage or better and earning at least one kill. Three different Eagles earned a solo block up at the net defensively.
Many Eagles were unstoppable as
Uriel Batista led the Green and Gold with 15 kills and two aces that went untouched. Senior
Erik Boisvert crushed nine kills alongside
Jonathan Carlson with six. Both middles continue to impress with
Mason Mullins going 6-for-6 and
Max McCullough 2-for-2 while hitting 1.000.
Setter Mclain Mott finished the match with 33 assists along with two disguised kills. Libero
Danny Smithers scooped up seven digs that kept rallies going for the Eagles and ultimately ended up in their favor.
The Eagles will start their road series for the next four matches with Saint Katherine on Friday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.
