IRVINE, Calif. - In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 as the spring semester gets underway, Concordia University Irvine announced the school's updated spectator policy on Thursday for all home games inside CU Arena.
There will be no general admission for Concordia home games inside CU Arena and tickets will not be sold for home games inside the gym at this time. This updated policy is effective immediately and includes volleyball, basketball and STUNT games hosted at Concordia.
Only pre-approved spectators will be allowed in the gym and they must be on the pass list submitted by the visiting team or home team 48 hours prior to game time.
Anyone not on the pre-approved pass list will *NOT be allowed inside with No exceptions.
MASK POLICY:
As a reminder,
Masks ARE required for all guests inside all buildings on CUI's campus - including CU Arena for all our home basketball, volleyball and STUNT games.
This rule will be enforced and any guest not wearing their mask in compliance with our California state guidelines will be asked to either put on a mask or to leave the building with no exceptions.
This policy is in place through at least Feb. 15 for guests inside all buildings on Concordia's campus per state guidelines regarding COVID-19 and the health and safety of all guests, student-athletes, coaches, officials and staff.

A new season of serves, spikes and digs is just around the corner!
The Concordia University Irvine men's volleyball team begins its first campaign under new head coach and former Olympian
Riley Salmon this month. Concordia's home opener is slated for Monday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. against Saint Xavier.
The Eagles are also looking forward to hosting Saint Katherine on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. inside CU Arena.
The games will be live streamed online for free

SCHEDULE CHANGES:
- There are also a couple new schedule changes to announce for our men's volleyball team.
Concordia has added a new contest on Saturday, Feb. 19 and will play at UC San Diego at 7 p.m. that evening.
Concordia will not be participating in the UCSB Asics Invitational as originally planned. The Eagles were originally slated to play CSUN on Thursday, Jan. 6 as well as UCSB on Friday and UC San Diego on Saturday during the tournament.
In addition to those three games being canceled, the home game against Central State on Monday, Feb. 21 has also been called off.

- Our women's basketball game against Point Loma Nazarene University has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. inside CU Arena. This PLNU at CUI contest was originally scheduled for New Year's Day but was postponed due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
