CLAREMONT, Calif. - On day one of the Gary Troyer Tournament, the Concordia University Irvine men's water polo faced off against some solid competition.
In the first matchup the Golden Eagles faced off against the OUAZ Spirit in a game where both teams' offenses were able to produce double digits goals. Though in the final quarter, OUAZ was able to put up four goals that helped them seal a 15-10 victory.
The Golden Eagles' offense was led by Jacob Stuart, who scored three goals. Sam Diamond and Austin Wade also were able to get themselves on the scoreboard with each scoring a pair of goals.
Later that afternoon, CUI was slated to play against Chapman University. After establishing a six goal lead heading into halftime, Chapman was able to hold onto that lead for a 14-7 win.
CUI's offense was led by Harry Bentham who scored two goals. The Golden Eagles also had goal contributions from Oscar Garcia Blomback, Austin Wade, Jeff Runyan, Connor McElwee, and Jacob Stuart. On defense, Tanner Powell battled Chapman's offense with his 12 saves.

CUI will play two more times on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 10:20 a.m. against Long Beach State and then against Pepperdine at 3:40 p.m. Both games will be at Axelrood Pool.
