HONOLULU, HI – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team continue their road trip in Hawaii against the top team in PacWest against Chaminade. The Golden Eagles finished with scores 19-25, 15-25, and 17-25 and move to 12-8, 9-4 in PacWest play.
Michelle Feliciano finished with 13 assists along with
Devin Sivertson adding five.
Cassidy Gelacio finished the match with six digs and
Julia Wilson contributing with four. Gelacio and
Kennedy Farley had two aces during the match along with one from
Gabrielle Barcelos.
Senior
Kirra Schulz led the Golden Eagles on the night with seven kills and digs.
Cassie Prior and
Halli Hooks both added six kills. Defensively Prior dup up two while Hooks had one block assist.
Three different Golden Eagles added two kills that included Barcelos,
Ally Scheidle, and
Ola Magiera. Barcelos and Scheidle scooped up four digs a-piece while Magiera was right behind with three.
The Silverswords were able to fight off the Golden Eagles with runs that did not allow CUI to get back in the game in all sets. The third set toggled between the scores until a couple of service runs towards the end of the set secured the win for Chaminade.
CUI will finish their stint in Hawaii and will look to sweep the series against Hawaii Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
