Golden Eagles Attack Erupts For Three Goals

Alex Perez Nets A Brace Off Of Two Brett Lux Assists

ORINDA, Calif. - On Thursday afternoon, the Concordia University Irvine men's soccer team faced off against Holy Names University Hawks in a PacWest matchup on the road. The Golden Eagles looked to earn their first win in conference play.

In the first half, the Golden Eagles were firing on all cylinders as Alex Perez netted a brace in the first 16 minutes of action thanks to two wonderful assists from Brett Lux. Then 15 minutes later Nikoa Markham was able to find the back of a spectacular ball from Luca Page. Despite Holy Names responding with a goal of their own to close out the half, this was CUI's best start to a match this season.

During the second half, the Hawks were able to net another goal to cut the lead to one for CUI. Though, Concordia's back line stepped up in the second half to prevent Holy Names from completing the comeback.

The game ended in a win for the Golden Eagles, as their attack was able to capitalize on five shots on goal

The Golden Eagles will continue their road trip this Saturday, Oct. 8th, as they face off against Fresno Pacific.
