NAMPA, Idaho - On Friday, the Concordia University Irvine women's basketball team was eager to face off with the host Nazarene Nighthawks in the NNU Thanksgiving Tournament.
This game marked
Teagan Thurman's return to Idaho as she faced her former school for the first time. She led all players with eight rebounds and four steals.
Through five regular season games, Thurman leads the PacWest Conference with an average of 10.2 rebounds per game. She added seven points and two assists against the Nighthawks.
Concordia guards
Jasmine Rachal and
Katie Timmerman combined for 15 points.
Erika Maggard and
Kendall Jackson also each added seven points apiece.
Savannah Felix-Amoroso made her season debut and added six points as well.
However the Nighthawks shot the ball extremely well and played arguably their best game of the season to date. NNU shot 46 percent from the field while CUI was held to 28 percent shooting.
CUI faces Simon Fraser on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT (which is Noon local Mountain Time in Idaho) on day two of the tournament.
