Box Score NAMPA, Idaho - The Golden Eagles defeated Simon Fraser 90-86 Saturday afternoon in their final game of the NNU Thanksgiving Classic in Idaho. It took an extra five minutes for the Green and Gold to return home with a victory.
CUI was led by the duo of sophomore
Teagan Thurman and graduate student
Jasmine Rachal on the day. Thurman led the team with 22 points while going a perfect 6 -for-6 from the free throw line. Rachal carved up the Simon Fraser defense with 21 points while also dishing out a game-high seven assists.
Simon Fraser came out of the gates strong winning the first period, but the Golden Eagles weathered the storm and won the second and fourth periods. When Simon Fraser took the lead 82-80 with three seconds left in the game, CUI never lost hope.

Katie Timmerman received the ball from redshirt sophomore
Erika Maggard and hit nothing but net with the time hitting zero forcing overtime. The Golden Eagles played stout defense in overtime which propelled them to the 90-86 win over Simon Fraser.

Stephanie Lee contributed big time for CUI going 3-for-4 from the three-point line ending with nine points on the day. A day after making her season debut, junior
Savannah Felix-Amoroso also dropped nine points while grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles open PacWest Conference play on Thursday Dec. 1 against Dominican.
