IRVINE, Calif. – The Eagles soared on offense to the tune of 25 goals Saturday in their last two games of the Convergence Tournament.
Concordia posted an 18-5 victory over Wittenberg in the team's finale after losing an early duel with Pomona-Pitzer. The Green and Gold improved to 5-6 during their
Game 1: Pomona-Pitzer 12, Concordia 7
Tamsyn Evezard net four goals and
Madison Ravelo added two scores to pace the CUI offense.
Emily Tucker also scored once and
Josie Miller and Ravelo were each credited with an assist.
Tatiana Cava came up with seven stops in goal, but the Sagehens were able to cash in a few more times than the Eagles and survive a tough match for the victory.
Game 2: Concordia 18, Wittenberg 5
The Eagles offense exploded against the Tigers with
Kim Reidel and Tucker leading the charge with four goals apiece.
Kylie Van Leeuwen scored twice, Evezard added three more scores and Ta'iuta Uiagaleiei also racked up multiple goals. Paigen Henson,
Cecilia Smith and Miller each added a goal as well.
Meanwhile, goalies
Tatiana Cava and
Kiara Espeleta each came up with three saves.
The Green and Gold finished the tournament 2-2 with four games in less than 48 hours.
